While it is reasonable to wish to change your posting, I believe you overstep yourself by villifying the moderators for not taking care of your request. They probably have more in their lives than just catering to personal whims. Besides, if in the end you can' t change it, either post a contradictory message to advise against the song, or use it as a learning experience and don't post before you are sure of yourself.

Hello.. I have Xcode 3.1.3, xcode for use with Leopard.. I want to take intel only apps and make them universal binary.. get them to run on PPC to help support the developers out there dedicated to keeping the PPC platform alive.. How do I, for instance.. convert a mac app from the app store, such as Hands off! for universal binary?

Is it like a switch I need to switch on? Also, if I can disassemble the code for that program, can I then make it into a universal application?

About how many people where waiting in line you think for the WiFi launch? Im not sure what time I should get in line.

I got there at around 5:45 AM and I was the 7th person in line. By the time it opened at 9AM I would say there was about 150 people in line. I don't expect as many people.
I expect there will be a decent turnout since it will be available to purchase at 5pm on a Friday. I'm going to get there at around 3:30 PM. Just in case!:D

An Airport reliability fix for Intel iMacs would be nice. Too many threads on that one here. Goodness knows what Apple Discussions is like.
Mhm yeah, they definitely still haven't got Intel Mac airport sorted properly. My Mac mini worked like a charm until 10.4.8 as well, it was definitely that which screwed mine up!

Still, I doubt that'll be mentioned today.

ok so...Ive checked it out. Wordpress seems kind of cool because I can setup my client to author some things....but it takes SO long to get the way I want it. I have to add on a bunch of plugins...But the worst part is getting it to look the way that I want to. With Dreamweaver I can just copy an older site that I made and make a few adjustments and I am done. Working with themes in WP is making me want to pull out my hair hehe....Unfortunately The client wants to be able to upload their own pictures and write updates otherwise I would revert to a dreamweaver/html site......I wish there was someway to combine them or something...

i'm pretty sure that drives are spinned down & their heads parked when a sleep command is issued...
at least that's the case with my BW/350, so i would expect the portables to behave the same.
plus, modern 2.5" hds are amazingly robust. most can handle operational shocks of some 100 to 200 g/ms
i doubt that travelling with sleeping laptops can cause any harm to the drives.

Sweet. For the longest time I couldn't decide between a 13" MBP or a 15" MBP... I was begrudgingly settling on a $2000 computer, simply because I couldn't let myself justify a $1200 computer that couldn't play any newer PC games. For $900, and black, that's a no-brainer!

    HAHA! And don't forget Skinnamarink-e-dink-e-dink, Skinnamarink-e-do

I guess we shouldn't mention SL&B without mentioning Raffi and his song Baby Beluga

    >(P-Worm) I thought that I heard somewhere that Steve Jobs said that he would never have Apple release a PDA.

This was a while back (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=14339#post14339).

Yes. All the hot girls that will swarm you, lol, I kid I kid.

I truly think you're just unlucky with the failure on your Logic board. I had a Powerbook G4 for 5 years and it never failed me. It was my college sidekick and I took it everywhere. For every story of a person with a failed Apple product I am sure that there are 100s of success story such as mine. Then again I have not had any HP/Toshiba/Sony product failed on me. I say go for the 2011 MBP and don't worry about all of the ifs.

    Jessica,
Why do you say "...shame on you for calling it 'borderline discrimination'?"

discriminate: to make a distinction in favor of or against a person or thing on the basis of the group, class, or category to which the person or thing belongs rather than according to actual merit; show partiality

    Sounds somewhat accurate to me.

Can the if-condition become the loop condition, so you won't need to break out of an infinite loop? Can you replace "while true; do" with "while [ "${FORTUNE:140}" == "" ];" or with something like it?l

    Why?

    Efficiency? It's a shell-script, for bog's sake.

Besides, you'd have to reverse the conditional to !=, or use the until keyword in bash.

    EDIT:
Doing a little research on 'fortune' programs, it appears the most common implementations have command-line options for the length of the fortune chosen. The options -s -n 140 appear to limit fortune's output to only those epigrams shorter than 140 chars.

So as an exercise in learning shell scripting, this may have been useful. As an exercise in reading man pages before embarking on projects, maybe not so much.

why dont you like the ice station??
i have an icurve in my closet, but im saving it to use with my next apple lappy
i dunno, i guess i'll try it for a while then decide, but i want to use an apple wireless keyboarrd and i think the icurve would work better with that.
